As a church, we want to be people that encounter God. In a nutshell, expecting encounter means that we believe that we will meet with God.
We believe that we will meet with God when we gather together on Sundays, and in our midweek missional communities, and as we go about our everyday lives.
We are diligent about encountering God corporately, coming prepared to bless one another as the body of Christ, exercising the spiritual gifts that God has given us. We each reveal something unique of who God is, and can point one another towards God, going deeper in encounter with him.
Through encountering God we go away changed, seeing our circumstances and situations from a more godly perspective.
As we expect encounter, we:
Expect to meet with God, to come into his presence.
Expect to use our spiritual gifts and minister to one another.
Expect to go away changed, becoming more accurate reflections of who God is.
